Prelude
This story starts thousands of years ago, before the times of magic and war, before the times of destruction and chaos. The world known, as Kiateth was a peaceful world ruled by two kings. Both kingdoms shared resources and lived in peace until the one day, the Kings of the kingdoms of J’hndor and Ling’kin both fell in love with the same woman. The two kings began to hate the other, and during a trip into J’hndor territory the maiden died at the hands of thieves. King Ling’kin was outraged that J’hndor could allow this to happen, while King J’hndor thought that Ling’kin sent the thieves. The two kingdoms waged war on each other, no one kingdom ever stronger then the other. The kingdoms fought through hundreds of years never stopping once, no one person ever remembering why they are fighting the other, only knowing the hate they have for the other.
Chapter One: Xan
The forest of Sembos is a dark lonely place, hidden in the shadows of the outside word, cut off from society the forest lives in deep slumber. Within this deep slumber lives a man who had once fought in the hundred year war but ran away in fear and hid in the forest to hide from the death and the noise of battle. Living in peace during the day but slowly being ripped apart by his own dreams of family long since passed on. Xan would soon be driven mad if it weren’t for a walk he took in the forest one day.
Xan had finished the morning’s routine of washing, eating and listing to the latest news of the war on his radio, he had then decided to take a walk through the forest to ease his mind. This was a common thing for Xan to do. He would walk and walk until he almost lost sight of the large tree that marked his clearing and his home, but this time he kept going. For hours he walked through the thick, dark forest. He thought about his family back in J’hndor. He thought of the war, the hundred years of war that plagued this world, he thought about lucky he was to be away from it all, he thought about how he was so tyred, he thought about the dreams and the weather. He thought so much for so long that they all started to bled together into one single thought, then all thoughts where gone and the night had come.
Xan was worried; he had lost his way and did not know where home was. He started to run. No reason or direction foretold in his mind, he just ran. No one had ever wandered this deep into the forest, then again no else had known about this forest as far as he knew, he needed to find shelter for the night. He stopped, sweat drenched his skin and he could not run any further. He looked long and hard for a place to shelter him for the night, “a cave to the north” a voice told him, “its not far, hurry”. Xan headed north as fast as he could until he found the cave, an ancient looking cave. Xan entered the cave slowly, then…nothing.
Xan awoke with a start; he climbed out of his bed with a puzzled look on his face. “The dreams are getting very odd” Xan had thought to himself.
Tysh
Your eyes fall to a picture of a rather charming young male. His arms are wrapped around a stunningly beautiful young female child. Both have cat hears but human faces and bodies. They seem so happy. Carefully you turn the thick browned page and fall upon words. You start to read; realizing the odd book is a pure explanation and identification of someone. Soon your are engulfed in the story.
My beautiful daughter, Tyshya Ruby Hawkings, was born as a healthy wolf pup. I wished her father could have seen her, but he had died a month after I had found out that I was pregnant...
Ruby?” A young male’s voice echoed out into the night. Then a small howl came back his tiger ears. He smiled and waited. Suddenly platinum colored wolf ling came bounding to him, stopping a few feet from him. Quickly it started to change form, and in no time a young female with large white tiger ears on a human body stood before him. “Yes Tyson?” Her sweet innocent voice answered, as her hands swept behind her back and under her feathered gargoyle wings...
“Tyson!!” Ruby screamed into the night air threw the other sounds of horror. Her brother staggered and fell to his knees. She ran to his side, her form almost purely human, except for those white tiger ears and white tiger/gargoyle tail. She had tears streaking down her face as her beloved brother fell into her outstretched arms, almost limp. “Tyson...” She cried softly, looking into his eyes. He reached his furry hand up and gently stroked her face, wiping his younger sister’s tears away. “You have to be strong Ruby. Leave here before you are hunted and killed too.” His voice was shaking, weak, and growing softer. Ruby shook her head, holding his hand against her cheek. “No.Don’t speak, you’ll be ok.” Tyson’s eyes looked saddened by her words. He tried to pull himself away from her, pushing her away. “Go Tyshya!” he cried, trying to make her go. She looked at him almost hard, she still wouldn’t budge. “Tyshya GO NOW!” He could see a poacher running towards them from behind her. He gave her a huge shove, sending her back a few feet. She looked at him stunned, her hand slipping from his. She was so young and innocent; she couldn’t quite grasp the whole situation yet. “NO!” She cried, but stood and started to back away. Tyson waited till she was out of sight, then he reached down to his ankle and pulled out a gun. “You’ll never have me.” He growled raising it. His wound was already serious, but he could still be saved. The man reached him and tried to wrestle the gun away. Tyson fought with all he had left, shooting and killing the human mutant. Another shot rang out, and hit Tyson in a vital spot, killing him almost instantly. Tyshya watched from high up in a tree as a white tiger. She turned and ran...
She doesn’t remember much that happened over the next few years, but she does know that she never again trusted any male. Tyson was all the family she had left, and he was suddenly ripped away from her in her youngest years. She hardly ever used her middle name anymore...
The race that Tyshya is remains a mystery. Some would call her a freak; others would call her a mutant. And still others would call her a prized possession. Non the less, she was born as a wolf pup. Later she was raised for a few years as a white Siberian tiger, and could shift her form into a half human/half tiger or wolf body. After her mother died, she became aware that her father was gargoyle, and she could also become a gargoyle. She could also mix the forms up and become something very unique. After her brother died when she was seven, she discovered she could become anything she wanted.
If you’re lucky enough to see Tyshya, you’ll probably see her in her human/garg/tiger form. Her eyes are always a platinum/ silver color, and are look pools of liquid. Her face structure will be human or wolf, tiger, or gargoyle. She never becomes fully human. Her ears are always her white tiger ears, and she always has a tail. Her hair is thigh length and curly. Most of the time it’s ash black with white streaks, but sometimes it’s white with black streaks. She is about 5’9 in her half-human form and weighs close to 176 pounds. Most of her weight is muscle, even though it doesn’t show too much. She has a good strong build, her abdomen are strong and relaxed. Making her belly look slim.
Usually she wears navy green pants that are loose and a bit baggy. With white stripes going down the sides. Her shirt is usually a velvety light tank top with spaghetti straps. Sometimes she’ll wear a navy green vest over. She also has a few other outfits that she wears.
On her left upper arm she wears a crystal armband that is pretty thin. Around her left ankle she wears a thin intricately detailed anklet. She always wears a foreband with a black diamond in the middle. In the center of the diamond there is a rotating platinum colored crescent moon, given to her by her brother.
She usually carries carries an ax-saber. The blade arched slightly. She usually used her ax-saber. But when she is out she carries a light dagger strapped around her right thigh. She also likes to use a staff and a samurai double bladed sword. She’ll also use an old school hand gun if need be. She owns a suit of armor but rather uses chain mail.
Her personality is different and as unique as she is. Mostly she keeps to herself and remains a mystery to others. She tends to be very quiet, and seems to avoid males. She never lets anyone get to close to her.
You take one last look around; you notice a most remarkable carved songbird flute sitting on a small corner table. The table is covered in soft white fur, setting off the dark tanned wood of the flute. Suddenly your eyes meet another pair of eyes. They belong to a red tailed hawk. It suddenly squawks and flaps it’s wings, jumping to the side of the stand it’s on. You jump back in surprise. ~Tell anyone what you just read, and you’ll die slowly and painfully.~ That voice runs into your thoughts again, scaring you more. You make a quick exit from the room and run down the corridor and back to the great hall. Your heart in your throat. Those words haunt you for the next few days and every now and then after words.
The Story of Kiateth, back-story of Kai and Demar
Nearly one-hundred years into the great war, a man named Xan who lived in the woods, never hearing to battle cries of either side learned to use the forces of magic. Xan was a man not pure of heart, he was a very evil man indeed so in that fact, the magic he used was called Black because it caused the hearts of those who used it to darken. Xan called out the name of who’s kingdom he wished to defend, the kingdom of J’hndor, but he did not wish to protect the kingdom, he wished to rule it. Xan used his dark powers to cause great pain within the king’s sleep until the King of J’hndor went mad and named Xan the new king before he killed himself. Xan changed the way war was waged from that time on, he taught his forces to use the Black magic and to bring fire and death to those that would stand in there way, the Kingdom of Ling’kin.
During the time of Xan’s reign he renamed the kingdom of J’hndor to the Kingdom of D’han (meaning “Red dark as Black”). The D’han forces killed many Ling’kin forces and for a time, held control over the entire world.
During the time of total D’han control, a small group of Ling’kin solders captured a D’han solder. This solder looked like a demon, the Black magic had changed his form from a man to this. The Ling’kin solders learned of the magic during this day but did not wish to pursue this. Instead they went into the woods and prayed that the mother of the woods would give them what they need to fight the D’han. The mother of the woods saw that these men where pure of heart and sent them the power of the light. They used this “White magic” to win over the hearts of those who where pure, but still taken by the D’han. This new force called them selves the family of “Megos” (meaning “Sun graced light”) saying they where not ruled by a king, they where brothers and sisters fighting for there mother. From this time on, all who fought amongst the forces of the White where given the surname Megos.
The Kingdom of D’han and the family of Megos fought for many years. All who used the black magic was D’han, all who used the white magic was Megos. The two forces where stalemated in every battle they fought. The world was split 50/50 once again.
Around 300 years into the history of the family Megos, a child born of D’han blood was found but not killed, he was saved because it was seen that he was pure of heart. The child lay hungry and was not too survive but the mother of the woods sent to his aid a great lynx. The small boy and the great lynx joined as one and was given the name Kai (meaning “Cat’s paw”). The father of the house of Megos, Keteth, took in Kai. Kai had two brothers, Demar and Sezen, he loved them both.
During the final years, the two leaders of Megos and D’han sat at the same table. They both knew that one could not beat the other in small battles, they decided to end the fighting but both wanted to be declared the victor. So a battle was to be waged between all the forces of the world, every man women and child would fight until one side had won. Every one of the 9 billion people on the planet would do battle.
Kai and his brothers led the Megos into battle, while the D’han where led by there king. The battle waged on for many moons. During the fifth moon, Sezen was struck by a powerful blow and laid dead on the ground. Kai watched in horror as his brother was struck and yelled with tears in his eye as he searched his mind for something he could do. Kai attempted to change time, to go back and save his brother. Kai was not old enough to understand the time spell and when he tried, he trapped himself and his other brother Demar in a time warp.
The battle continued for 3 days until the Mother of the woods could not take the pain anymore. She created a being so great that it destroyed all life on the planet including itself and all was done.
One thousand years later Kai appears where he had left from all alone. He spends four hundred years looking for his brother and training his skills. By the time he had spent his seven hundredth day alone, he was a White master. On the eight hundredth and first day a man named Tlieaxu appeared and told Kai of his brother. Kai could still not find Demar. Tlieaxu a few years later told Kai of a person named Kenza and asked where he might find her now, Kai looked into the planes and found the one named Kenza on a world known as Jinnorra. They both left for this world…..and so the story begins.

The Katgoyle Chronicles:
Chapter 1, Wandering
Welcome to the day. Just as every other day this was to be no different. Life was easy and relaxed in the castle…in fact life on the world of Jinnorra was nothing more then peace it’s self.
Kenza continued to walk the halls of the castle in search…of someone, anyone. How could she live in a castle with so many occupants and never see anyone? Boredom set in and she headed to the members hall and into her room. She still could not understand where everyone was but she didn’t let it get to her, she just cranked up some tunes…grabbed a book and began to read; until the female eyed the duct tape sitting on her shelf…she grinned.
Down the hall not to far from Kenza’s room was the newest addition to the member’s hall. The name on the door was marked “Tyshya”.
Inside, Tyshya sat in her lonely room; softly on her empty and seemingly untouched bed. She had only been on this world a few days but, this was no different from any of the other places she had been in her life; it was all empty…all alone. She looked around her room finally fixing her eyes on her songbird flute; she took it from her desk. For a moment it seemed, she was brought comfort and warmth…but just as quickly as the sensation came, it was gone again and she sat alone in her room again.
The girl stood and placed the flute back to the desk where it sat ever since she first got here. Her tail wrapped around her leg and she folded her wings close beside her as she sat down on the tapestry covered floor, hugging her knees and shutting her eyes; the memories of her life flow through her mind.
Hours had gone by and Kenza could not come up with anything to do…she just sat in her bed and played with the role of duct tape staring off into nowhere…until
“hmm…duct tape…NEWBIE!!” she jumped from her bed with the duct tape clasped in her fist and she ran out of the room headed towards the newbie’s room.
Tyshya is awoken with images of her brother still fresh in her mind; there is another pounding on the door and Tyshya wipes the tears off her face as she slowly gets up to get the door, wondering what the others in her new home where up to. Another pounding on her door and Tyshya realizes what had woke her up in the first place.
She frowns, “Who is it and what do you want?”
Kenza stood outside the door not really knowing what to say, “uhh..guess who! I’m just visiting, wandering around with nothing better to do. Seeing what’s up, getting to know people, threatening people with duct tape, ya know, the usual! Well…then again, you may not know cause you’re a newbie here...hehe, unless you don’t want to be then I can say your not.” Kenza stopped as she began to realize she was making less and less sense as she went on.
Tyshya let a small smile appear on her face…then quickly hid it as she opened the door, “I don’t care. Call me what you wish.” She said roughly.
It was dark in Tyshya’s room, the window hid the bright day outside as flames from the few candles lit only faint features on Tyshya’s body…but one thing did catch Kenza’s eye, the flute on the desk. “No, it doesn’t matter what I call you cause I’m only joking. I was just visiting cause I couldn’t find the others.” She was still staring at the flute, “Cool, I like flutes, one of my favorite instruments but I don’t know how to play anything.” She smiled trying to lighten the mood a bit, “I have my own but it just kind of sits there and does nothing…do you play?”
Tyshya eyed the flute that was sitting on the desk and nodded, “yes I play, many different kinds of flutes.”
The flute seemed to glow in the light of the candle that sat beside it. Kenza was really intrigued now, “want to play it? What I mean is…it would be nice to hear something different. Unless you don’t want to then that’s fine…does it have a sentimental value to you? Where’s it from? Oh, and if I get annoying you can just tell me to leave you alone and I’ll be quiet unless you want to talk.”
Tyshya just blinked, she felt as if she where being drilled, “I usually don’t play my flute for anyone.” She looked to Kenza…how could she…be so ‘happy’? “But I suppose I could give you a taste.”
Tyshya walked over and picked up the flute, the flames of the candle flared a bit. This was very strange for her, she never opened up to anyone before…it must have been the innocent happiness that vibrated off the clan leader Kenza, “Flutes as well as other material things have some sentimental value, but this particular one means a great deal to me.” Tyshya holds back the rush of memorys in her mind again as she wondered why she told Kenza so much.
“Yey!” Kenza almost giggled, “I feel privileged, thank you.” She opened her mouth to ask about the history of the flute and why its so special…but stops herself. “maybe some other time, once Tyshya’s more comfortable around here, she did get here a little while ago after all.” She thought to herself. “Well…you look a little uptight, relax! Everyone’s friends here, its okay to let your guard down sometimes…but anyways I’ll be quiet and let you play now.”
Tyshya just shrugged, “You have to do a lot to earn my trust.” She set the flute to her lips and began to play a soft yet deeply haunting melody.
Down the hall in another room sat an…angelic looking man in white robes. The man sat in deep meditation. His eyes opened and the man stood up as if hunted by a memory. His ears rang as the tone of a flute playing a sweet melody echoed around his room. He turned to the door of his room and waved his hand…in an instant a white light appeared and it expanded into a magical portal…the man walked through it and dissappeard.
Back in her room Tyshya continued to play for Kenza…the melody magical as it deepened the atmosphere in the room.
“What is that…wonderful melody that you’re playing?”
Tyshya doesn’t open her eyes to see who had spoken. She sensed that it was indeed a male so she keeps her eyes shut and plays the song to its completion. Saying nothing she puts the flute back on the desk and sits down…looking at her feet. Her wings tightened behind her back and her tail almost strangled her leg.
Tyshya, after a few uneasy moments glanced up to the man in white robes sitting on her bed, her eyes cold and harsh; not welcoming, not inviting, not emotional.
The man’s angle-like wings fluttered a bit then vanished…he began to sense hostility in the air, the man stood up and took a slightly defensive stance.
“I am sorry young one, I did not mean to intrude…I was…what I mean is…I felt your song in my room and…wanted to know who’s music it was.”
As this was going on, Kenza was less then amused as she glared at the man as well, “You know this is someone’s room now! Tyshya moved in just a little while ago. You should knock before you enter!” Kenza composed herself then looked back to Tyshya, “That was great! I would love to hear more sometime when you feel like playing again.” She smiled and noticed Tyshya still blankly looking at the male figure standing in her room, “o! And Tyshya, this is Kai…Kai this is Tyshya. There, now everybody knows each other now.” She turns her attention back to the man, “Next time knock first, must make the newbie’s feel comfortable here.”
Kai just smiled and raised his hand over his head. There was what seemed like a gust of wind then he lowered his hand again, “sorry Kenz, sometimes I get ahead of myself, I didn’t think anyone was actually staying in this room yet. O, and I just but up a little barrier…I won’t be popping into member rooms anymore.” He turns his attention back to Tyshya and bows his head in respect. “I apologize, I do wish to become friends. I’ll come visit you sometime.” Kai then looks to the door, “I hate doors.” He walks out the door and enters a portal…then he is gone.
Tyshya’s eyes glowed for a second; at least she didn’t have to answer his question. She wasn’t about to anyway. She looked to Kenza again, her stance strong and intimidating, like that of a great warrior’s. Her tail hung freely behind her and her wings seemed to relax; she waited.
There was a knock on the door, but it wasn’t a normal knock. It was happy. Now, there wasn’t much to a knock but both Kenza and Tyshya knew that this was indeed a very happy knock. Tyshya walked over to the door and opened it slowly not saying a word. It was a very funny looking man…he was short and wore long robes that where way too big for his body, he smiled and looked at Kenza.
“Heyhey Kenz! I’ve finally made it! Jeeze, you wouldn’t believe how hard this place is to find, and the directions where no help really.” He smiled again, “well, tell yeah what, I’m gonna take a look around if you don’t mind!” The odd little man runs down the hall then jumps toward and open portal…only to miss it by a foot. “Jeeze! I really gotta work on that!” He then picks himself up and carries himself through the portal.
Tyshya narrowed her eyes slightly as she shut the door. She was going to say something…but it was lost in her own thoughts as she tried to figure out what just happened. She just sat on her dusty bed.
Kenza just blinked, “uhh…ok, sorry about that; guess its getting kind of busy around here.” She said slowly still trying to figure out who that little man was.
The magical forces of the world of Kiateth
All worlds have a magical power called the unica, every world’s unica is very different from the other, each being very unique. On the world of Kiateth the unica was hidden in deep in the forests of Sembos and guarded by a being only known as “The Mother of the Woods”. The unica of Kiateth generated two energies or “Magics”, the evil of the Black, and the kindness of the White.
The Black energy was the magic of death, one that learned to control this power could learn to destroy life and cause misery to the lives of those who wronged the black controller but would end up being controlled by the power they wished to control. The powers of Black once used would turn the user into a beast losing all will of there own and only serving the magic. The people that use the black power become as powerful as the energy wishes, sometimes giving the user the power to control the minds of others, other times the power to kill, depending on what role you are to play in the Black power’s evil plans.
The White energy was the magic of purity, one that learned to control this power could learn to heal and protect them from evil. The users of the white magic will not be controlled to the extent of Black users but will be swayed to fight the users of the Black magic. This magic is quite different from the Black energy, the user will be judged by the purity of heart at all times, the extent of the power the user will be allowed to use depends on how pure of heart the user is. Training to use this energy is difficult but all peoples can learn the same spells. Users of the White energy can learn to heal any wounds and sometimes bring a person back from the dead, they can control the elements of wind, water, flame, earth, and physical aspects of the world. Users of the white energy can at times control time and space depending on if the energy will allow it. It takes many years to be able to use this energy to its full extent, and depending on how pure of heart you are, you might never become any good at it but the energy will never give up on you.
The unica of Kiateth showers the energy all over the world, and though the energies have a way of working in you the users or “Mages” have to train to be able to properly use there respective magics. Even the controlling powers of the Black demand constant training.
Although there is not much truly known about the unica other then the teachings of Nemar and Xan, it is clear that White and Black will war until one outdoes the other. Even now, in the days of solitude with Kai the master of White, the Black lies in wait for the promised destroyer.
