Story, needs to be re-written
-Prelude-“This land is a land of peace, nothing could ever break that peace for if evil ever broke out into this world, I fear it would never cease and last forever. Praise be to the Mother who has given us everything including this beautiful peace that we bask in everyday. The evil one has been defeated forever because she has loved us.” – King Namar Ling’kin III 12as
It was twelve years after the salvation of the two kingdoms was promised by the mother through the angles declaration over the land. Peace had finally come upon the world known as Kiateth. There was a great sense of victory all over as the two kingdoms of man rejoiced and celebrated. For the enemy had been stopped in his evil tracks. However, it would seem that he still lurked in the shadows somewhere, for after the 12th year, darkness fell over the two kingdoms once again. This is the tale of the two kingdoms and the fall into an almost eternal darkness. This is the story of Kiateth.
***
The castle to the kingdom of Ling’kin was vast. Its’ two tall white pillars leading into the main gates were as high as any man could see. Nobody remembers the days when the castle was built. No man has records from back in the day before time when the castles came down from the heavens, but all know that indeed this building was the work of the Mother herself. Its’ tall pillars marked the entrance to the even taller gate that led inside. Inside there was a grand staircase leading to a large doorway high above.“She has arrived,” said a soldier as he hit his partner before forming up and standing prone as a woman passed though the large doors under heavy escort.“Isn’t that the second time this week?” The other whispered to the first as he scrambled to his position. The first solder smiled as the escorting party and the woman left through the gate, “Rumor has it that his majesty has taken a liking to her…”
King Namar Ling’kin III sat on his throne in deep thought with his muscular build slouched over in his seat. He had still not become used to the throne. Even after twelve years he couldn’t sit still. He was a warrior and the sword had been his life up until his father had been taken by the Mother. He took over the kingdom at the age of 25.“How can she be so beautiful… so lovely… so perfect?” The kings aide offered no response to the questions offered to him by his highness, “alas, you will see one day she will sit here as my queen. One day all will see her perfection sitting in her perfect throne.”Indeed Namar was taken by this woman, her long blonde hair flowed in his dreams and her smile sweetened his thoughts.
“Some say his majesty isn’t the only one.” The larger of the two guards said as they watched the woman and her escort move on down the road past the gate where they stood. “Rumor has it she has stolen the heart of J’hndor as well.”“You’re a fool, aye she’s a beautiful woman but to have the heart of both Kings of Kiateth is absurd.”
Nobody knew the heart of the woman, but soon everyone knew the heart of the king. King Lamand J’hndor who sat in the twin castle to that of the kingdom of Ling’kin thousands of miles away watched as the woman left his sight followed by her escort. This young king watched with passion as his love left the castle.“She is the perfect woman, in every way she is perfect. The perfect woman to make my queen.” The kings aide nodded and smiled…finally Lamand had found love.Indeed he had for her words where like a sweet violin to his ears and her eyes where liked pearls to his.
Word soon spread throughout the two kingdoms of man, throughout J’hndor and Ling’kin that the kings had found there love. But there was deception in the air and soon both kings knew of the others love for the same woman.“It would seem we have a problem my good friend.” Namar set his fork on his plate unwilling to finish the meal in front of him as he looked into the eyes of Lamand, “but this one woman cannot tare our unity apart so I say she can go with you.”“Namar are you sure, I could never unless it had your true blessing.”“Indeed it does, our friendship and our kingdoms are far more important then the emotions of this heart.” Namar looked to his friend across the long table, holding back the pain from his voice.Lamand was filled with joy, “she must have told Namar she wanted to be with me…” he thought to himself as the words of thanks never slipped out of his mouth, instead he lowered his eyes in respect, “May the mother bless the sacrifice you have made today for your kingdom as well as mine, I will never forget this my friend.”
There was rain the night the woman traveled to the castle at the center of the kingdom of J’hndor, some call the rains of Kiateth the “Tears of the Mother”. The woman’s beauty never left her that night, even as she lay in the muddy path, her escort laying with her, her favorite color now the color that marked their fate as blood trickled from there still bodies.
Lamand watched from his window of his room for his lovely to come, the rain poured harder than it ever had and he feared she would catch cold being out there during the Mothers weeping. Lamand called for his best men to meet up with her and make sure she was warm and safe as she made her way into his waiting arms.
“You…” Lamand couldn’t get the words out, there was so much he wanted to say to him, so much he wanted to do to him but the only thing he could get out was the one word, “you…”“Lamand, it was thieves. You know it was, look at the evidence! Why are you so blinded?” Namar looked into the eyes of his friend and saw the hurt, the anger, the rage inside as he stood there behind royal guard.“You…you think I don’t know what you did?! You think you can sit back and blame thieves for your crimes?!? You murderous bastard you killed her! You couldn’t have her so you KILLED HER!! Well we’ll see who has the final say in this…WE’LL SEE who is the next to die, might the Mother so help me I will take your kingdom from you…everything you are from you just before I take your life with my own hands…” Lamand burned his words deep into Namar before he exited the Ling’kin castle. Nemar stood unable to move as war was just declared against him by his best friend. After he had given up his love to him for the sake of peace…now she was dead and so was the peace. There where no words to express the emotion, no poet could write the words in his heart at that moment. The native tongue of his soul was left speechless. The silence was broken by Namar’s aide “Truly we’re not going to…”“Defend our home? Indeed we are, prepare the men…”
Chapter 1
Broadswords clashed together as the two men breathed hard for they had been fighting for a good hour now. The men continued to clash swords over and over, never getting a clear shot. The clangs of the swords where only matched by the sounds of annoyance and anger rising in both men. Around them the same scene could been seen all over the battlefield of the Fethos plains. The sight of thousands of men in heavy armor and swinging there broadswords high against another. Neither side ever taking hold of victory…“End this! We don’t have to fight this war anymore…do we even know why we fight?” The son of King Namar Ling’kin VII peered into his fathers eyes. “Why must you continue this useless fight father?”“We fight because the invasion never stops…we fight because our homes are ravaged everyday by those savages, our crops burnt down everyday. The gates of this kingdom are held up by the weight of our blade. If we lay that down then the efforts of my father and his father and his fathers father have all been in vane. We are the…”
“Victims, the enemy will never give up there fight to rule over us. We can only hold our ground and fight on. The only path to peace is in the destruction of the Ling’kin forces.” Xaios J’hndor smiled as he looked over his troops gathered just within the city gates of Kieck, the largest city in the kingdom of J’hndor. “Men we will not rest! We will defend our very right to live and we will see victory over the enemy!” The crowds cheered as Xaios raised his golden sword to the heavens. “The Mother lied to us and left us to die! But we rise up and realize that the powers of a god could not even put us under!”
“The Mother lied when she promised peace and even as she tried to destroy us we push on more powerful then ever…not allowing her to control our fates as we move beyond her jurisdiction. This war will end my son, once Xaios and his kingdom are burned to the ground and we show the Mother she was wrong to test us so harshly.” Nemar was not unlike his father, infact he still held the same passion as his forefathers, the Nemars before him. His passion was the J’hndor’s destruction, as well as his revenge on the Mother herself.
The world had not seen a peaceful day since war was declared back in the old kingdom. Many years have passed and many generations have died at the hands of the great war. No man had been saved, no person had an excuse not to fight unless they where a child or woman. All men fought, and all men died for the sake of the advancement of the kingdom for which they fought. Everyone grew up with the hatred, the passion against the other kingdom. Grew up hearing the stories of how the other kingdom waged this war, and how the one kingdom would one day rule over all of Kiateth. But nobody ever remembered why…why the war started.
“You blame the mother for the war we fight, the books all say the mother is to blame for this, that after she promised the great peace she came down and pitted man against man…if this is true wouldn’t ending the war be going against the mother? Wouldn’t ending the hate and the death mean rising up past the mother?”Namar looked slightly annoyed but kept his tone in check with his son, “The mother pitted the enemy against us to destroy us child…as we wage against the J’hndor and win victory over the evil that is in that kingdom. The mother will be stopped in her tracks and this kingdom will rise above the gods and we will create our one peace, as the mother creates pain.”
The clangs of swords and the screams of pain where always heard in the distance. Always did the cries of war shake the very earth. Kiateth was death as the stains of blood covered her soil. The whole world battled, all wanted war and all fought with pride except for one child.
“Father you are blinded by your fathers blindness. You only see the hate, this whole world is blinded by hatred. You are as adolescent as you are full of yourself!”“Xan I will not be talked to by…”“By who? The first son of J’hndor to not carry on his fathers name in 7 GENERATIONS?! I will have nothing to do with your war any longer. You have your war, you take your pride and fill it to the brim but I will not help you when you fall.” The 22 year old Xan D’han J’hndor took the back of his hand and slapped his father across the face before walking away. The royal guard looked to the king for orders but he just shook his head, “let the boy go, he follows his own path and indeed he will live his life as he sees fit.”Xan exited the castle gates, tears gathering in his eyes as he looked to the many paths that led away from his home. He heard the battles waging in every direction and he grew even more angry. He picked up a stone and tossed it into the air in rage screaming out to the nothingness that was now his life. Then suddenly, as the stone dropped to the ground he looked to one of the paths. This path was hardly marked and was grown over. Nobody had gone into this path for many years. The sign read “Forest of Sembos” Xan looked over the sign he had seen a hundred times in his life with a new fascination. He remembered his father telling him the old stories of Sembos, and the meaning of the word in the old tongue being “Mother’s Death”. The path called his name, the sweet whisper of the wind pushed him down the forbidden path that led to certain death. Xan headed deep into the Forest of Sembos.
Chapter 2
The old man sat in his chair, deep in study of yet another book. The light of his candle illuminated the bound pages of the ancient looking book. The sound of silence marked the small cabin as slowly he turned the page, a grin starting to show on his gray face as his lips formed the words he read.“Kai mean no ma teath tama…The cat’s paw will show the true powers…meaos nan d’han et na Megos seck ne mosaaed na me…powers see the red dark as night and the white angles feathers formed against each other as…mjjic aca jemok…magic was the key.”The man studied the words and translated as he read then stopped as he reached the final words and repeated them, “mjjic aca jemok…magic was the key…” He said that over and over in his head as if he solved a great puzzle. “mjjic kendos fe ma d’han…Magic was great, Red dark as night was the fate.”
***
Eighty-three years later and the two kingdoms still fought, there where few cites or towns left that where not under the protection of the great walls constructed too protect the castles and kingdoms from the onslaught of war, it was less about kingdom advancement and more about keeping the other side out. The fighting was at a standstill, but the cries of war continued.
“Sire, here are the losses of today.” A solder walked up to King Jennao J’hndor and handed him a paper, nodding his head in respect, “also majesty, the men have noticed a change in the wind surrounding the area of Sembos…a few men have reported to me that ‘the wind screams with a chilling laughter.’” The solder took a step back and bowed his head slightly.“Thank you Malachi, tell your men not to fall into the mother’s traps and to keep an eye out for enemy raiders…reports have come in saying that they are planning a hit and run on gate three.” Jennao had to look up to the seven foot tall monster of a man whom he was proud to call his first. “Malachi, I want you to post three men at the entrance to the Sembos path…if anything happens I want to be notified immediately.”“Yes sire, it will be done.” Malachi took another step back an turned then quickly walked away…his plated armor clanging as he walked. He had felt something from that place for the past few days, that place of evil. As Malachi walked out of the castle he looks at the sky over the evil place. The sky was dark as night, something was approaching, he could feel it deep I his soul…the mother was working an evil plot against them down that path…the Sembos path…the path of death. And yet as he got closer to the path, now with his best men following him, he heard a voice. The voice called to him like the seduction of a beautiful woman, it called his name, louder as he approached the path. Suddenly he was alone, standing in the tall grass looking down the darkness of the path, the faint hint of his men yelling behind him but all he could hear was the voice, he needed to find her. Malachi moved further down the path, letting the voice move his body…letting her call him. A Cabin was built at the end of the path, deep in the forest. It was a small one man log cabin, and as Malachi laid eyes on it the voice stopped. For the first time he looked around, just now realizing he had walked down the path of death…he must had been walking for at least an hour. The man looked to the cabin again, fear rising up in his heart…but he pushed it away and decided to see where he had been led.
***
The old man stood up, his face…his body changing as he stood. His face now full of life, his hair now full of color. He finally understood now, and now came his reward. The man looked to his hand as he opened it, and a long-sword appeared in his hand. His other hand pushed his long dark hair out of his eyes as plated armor appeared on his body. This man, who now looked to be twenty-one smiled wide, then he looked down to his armor and shook his head, with a wave of his hand the plated armor was replaced with long black robes. For eighty-three years he had been studying this thing he had given the name “magic” and now finally it had come to him. It had been shown to him, placed in him, and now…it was time to show the world his gift. The man tossed up is arms and in an instant the walls of the cabin shot up in flames. He laughed as he walked though the doorway of the burning cabin and pulled his large hood over his head.
***
Just then Malachi saw something strange, as he ventured closer to the quiet cabin he saw a young man dressed in dark robes. Then as the man lifted his arms Malachi was shot back a few yards as the cabin was suddenly ablaze. Then he watched in horror as the man came though the flames untouched by the fire. He watched as the man threw fire from his hands, catching tree after tree on fire. Then the man saw him.
The man saw him, and was intrigued that anyone came down his path. There hasn’t been anyone down his path in over eighty years. The robed man walked towards Malachi, soon towering over the kings best. “Who are you, why do you come down my path?” The man asked with a grin.“I am the King’s general, I have been ordered to find out what is going on down the Sembos path.” Malachi couldn’t understand why he was answering this man, but he couldn’t stop himself.“Ah, I see…the king of J’hndor I would expect right? You’re his right hand…interesting.”
Chapter 3
Malachi’s men stood at the entrance into the Sembos forest for three hours after Malachi himself just left them for the path. They stood there as ordered hoping they would see him again but knowing better. Then as if a ghost appearing in the night, a figure could be seen down the path. The men tried hard to see who it was but it was in vain, they unsheathed there swords and prepared for the worst as the figure moved closer.“You guys are such twits, scared of old ghost stories, I should kill the lot of yea.” Malachi’s voice was heard just as he came into view. “Too scared to even follow me in, I could have been killed you jerks.”“Ah, common sir, you know you believed the stories too.”“Well there is nothing down there and here I am, alive and well. I’ll go report to the king, you three stay here, in case the boogie man shows up.” Malachi laughed hard as he walked towards the castle, a laughter unlike the others ever heard from him before.
King Jennao J’hndor sat on his throne looking over some papers and strategizing the next attack against the enemy forces. Malachi walked in, followed by the king’s royal guard, the King nodded them away and looked to Malachi, “I do hope you have good news for me Malachi, I am sick of bad news…”Malachi just walked around the throne room not listening to the King at all, “its interesting how some things never change, isn’t it?”Jennao looked to Malachi with rage in his eyes, “Commander Malachi! You will listen to me when I speak! What news do you have?!”Malachi now looked out the window of the room looking out towards the court yard. “Ah, calm down you old whiner, at least father could keep his cool.”Jennao stood to his feet and shouted for the guards but nothing came out, Malachi looked to the King with a smirk as Jennao’s eyes became wide at the realization that he could no longer move, “don’t you see, your time has come old man, your sitting on my throne and I want you gone.” Malachi’s body melted away like a candle to the flame as he moved in front of the king. What was under the melted flesh was the man in the black robes. “Jennao Negas J’hndor, the second son…your not worthy of your throne. Say hello to your long lost brother Xan.”The king spoke as Xan allowed him too, “how are you doing this?”“Mjjic my brother, Magic. That’s what this is all about. This war, your whininess, this world. Everything is controlled by the magic, and now I control the magic.” Xan’s eyes where calm and quiet as he moved around the room.“You can’t be him, you can’t be doing this.” Jennao’s last words fell away from his lips as he sat in his throne alone. His last thoughts not his own as he signed the paper in front of him. His actions not his own as he pulled his sword from its sheath and ended his term as king. The kingdom of J’hndor stood in silence that day, the first day of silence since the war began so long ago, as the stranger from a distant land was named king. As was Jennao’s final wish. This stranger promised an end to the war like all kings before him, but he had the look in his eye that almost made you believe him. Indeed after so long the line of the J’hndor was broken, in the first time in known history the line of kings had been broken, and now as a new king took the throne, as did it take a new name.
Chapter 4
“All hail his majesty, Xan Tama D’han!” The crowd exploded as the new king was announced to the masses. As Xan walked out of the balcony to speak to his people he looked around and spit on the ground as he spoke, “you are all weak, pathetic. You couldn’t fight your way to victory in ten thousand more years. As you are right now you have no chance of victory, and the Ling’kin forces will destroy us all. Its only a matter of time.” Xan stood there and watched with a smirk as the people started to shout against his words. Then Xan raised his hands in air, and all was silent once again as again he spoke, “under the rule of the J’hndor where have you gotten? Have you expanded your boarders? Have you destroyed your enemy? Do they even fear your name? No. But in all this there is hope for this kingdom, and all will FEAR THE NAME D’HAN!” Xan’s voice was amplified to an inhuman level as he spoke louder and with more passion, “you will learn the art of magic! You will fight and you will destroy the enemy. And I promise you in less then five days from this moment there will no longer be a kingdom of Ling’kin. And the D’han kingdom will rule Kiateth FOREVER!”Xan was as good as his word. Xan and his men whom where trained in the basics of Xan’s magic stormed the walls of Ling’kin on the fifth day and by the end of that day the twin castle of Ling’kin was held by the forces of D’han. Xan looked on with a smirk as it was so easy to end such a long drawn out war, he laughed as the Ling’kin castle was destroyed with a simple flick of his finger. Then as the battle came to an end and the last of the Ling’kin where killed Xan sat on his throne as the king of not only his kingdom but now, also all of Kiateth. As Xan’s men celebrated and had there way with the women of the now dead nation that evening, Xan stood in the center of his court yard. He stood and looked up to the heavens and laughed some more, “You thought you could control us?! You thought you could rune us with your war?! WELL I DEFY YOU!! You so called mother, I defy you with powers greater then yours. I am now more powerful then your will. My powers ended your war and my powers will enslave these men, I will be there god, I will give them a god worthy of praise. Unlike you I will be here while you sit up there and do nothing but mock and laugh at us.” Xan laughed some more before he turned and walked away back to his throne. Back to his place to rule his people.“We have done it, I have taken you weak hearted slaves and given you a great power and with that you have taken the enemy and ended their terror forever in one day. After so many years it is over and now we live in celebration. We live knowing that the mother has nothing, no power over us any longer! We brake the lines of war and battle and now you men will live in fear of nobody but myself.” Xan stood in front of his men once again, his voice ringing all throughout the kingdom. Suddenly Xan walked up to a solder standing in rank and stared into his eyes, “I said you will fear me…I do not see fear in your eyes…lets change that.” The solder burst into flames suddenly but the man stood still and quiet as his flesh burned away and his bones crumbled to the ground. “You all will fear me or you will die.” With that Xan left his men with that stirring in there hearts. Fear rising and knees trembling at the sight of Xan’s great power.Xan ruled Kiateth, he ruled with an iron fist and no one dared go against his word because they knew it would mean certain death. The D’han spread throughout the world, and the magic soon became common to all…but nobody would ever reach the almost godlike power that Xan had acquired.Years passed and Xan’s godlike position grew, he was worshiped and he was feared and with each passing year his pride and greed only grew but as his strangth grew he became clouded and blinded to the things in the world just enough to let only a few stray and hide away…wishing only to escape Xan’s evil rule on Kiateth.
Chapter 5
“Papa, can’t we rest just a little?” The young man and his father walked alongside the east river for days. “Papa, common we can’t walk forever.”“Okay we’ll rest, but not for long. I fear we have not reached the limit of Xan’s sight yet.” The father quickly found a clearing on the river bank and sat on the ground with his legs crossed, he quickly closed his eyes and murmured a prayer. As he did so his son stood and looked to the river with a soft smile. “Do you really think she hears you father? Does she care at all?”The father opened his eyes and looked to his son. “She hears the cries of our hearts Kena. She will answer our prayers in the right time, in her time.” The father resumed his prayer.Kena continued to look on, it had been years since they left their home in search of a place away from Xan’s iron fist. Somewhere where they could pray to the mother in peace, somewhere where they could live in peace away from the evil that plagued this dark world.Just then Kena saw a white bird land on the calm water of the river. “Father come look at the beautiful bird the mother has blessed us with.”As the father looked up too see the bird he head a soft voice in his heart that told him to hold fast in his prayer. He closed his eyes again quickly and prayed more. Kena continued to look at the bird in awe, it was so beautiful. “really father you should see this…”Kena was cut off by the bird as it spoke in a soft female voice. “You have been tested.” The bird said to him. “You have been tested and she will bless you…”.Now the father looked up to his son who’s face was completely white with fear, then he looked to the bird and lowered his head in respect. “Finally great messenger you have come, praise the mother for she is good. We only seek to be separated from the evil of this land.”The bird walked towards the father then stopped and spoke again. “You have been tested and she will bless you, and you will become consecrated to her. You will become her warriors to fight the evil of this land.”The father’s eyes widened as the bird spoke. He had been praying since he was old enough to remember, just as his father had before him and now she had answered back. “Thank you messenger, we have been praying for Xan’s rule to end for three hundred years now, he is without death and fear he will never die and we would be under him forever.”“Do not fear, for only she is without death. The one named Xan has seen long life because his darkness extends into the very unica itself but I tell you he will die before the birth of the greatest one. She will give you the power to fight but only the one she sends you will live, he will be good. Keep your hearts open to him when he comes, remind your sons to remind their sons to watch for her gift to you for without him all will be lost and Kiateth will lay bare with nobody.” Just then the white bird turned into a ball of while light, then it pushed itself into the body of the father.“DAD!” Kena cried out as he watched the light disappear into his father. “Kena, its ok. The mothers blessing is on us. Son we are to spread this power we have been given. Don’t you see? We are no longer to run but to rise up this family.” Kena’s father spread his arms out and a white aura surrounded him. He lifted up one hand towards the water of the river and the river froze over with ice. “We are not like the destructive ones that live in fear and spit on the name of the mother my son, this is the day the mother has blessed us and our family name. Kena, son of Zebulun of the family Megos, you are to be the first to witness what will from now on be called the white magic of the mother. We are to spread this magic to all those whose harts are ready to be purified and all who partake in this magic shall become known as Megos for our name has been blessed and all who use the mothers gift shall also be blessed.”
Chapter 6“Here are the latest reports from Nebek provence lord Xan, it was as you said sire but the resistance was destroyed.” What was one a man now stood before Xan changed by the magic he and all of the D’han army have been using for generations, into a creature that only resembled human stature.“There is, something more…you will take your men and find for me a man and his son. They have been starting a little rebellion near Dacta’no and I will not have them live anymore. NOW GO BEAST!” Xan moved his hand slightly and the creature was thrown out of the room by Xan’s powers.“There is something very wrong about these two, what are you trying to do now you old bag? Is the ever so famous Mother trying to take me out of the picture again? Ha! I know what your up too, I see into your little plan but the powers you gave him are so weak. He will not last long against me, you have failed again Mother, forgotten about my eye you have. YOU CAN’T WIN!” Xan stood up screaming at the ceiling above him, “Your war is over and I have your people in the palm of my hand, they serve me now.”“You only give the light purpose, nothing more…” A voice crept into Xan’s head softly as though it was nothing but a breeze, “but your time draws near.”“You think so do you? You’ll never be able to touch me which.”
***“So Xan has finally come to destroy us has he?” Zebulun smirked as he looked to the oncoming rank of Xan’s black mages. “Its about time he noticed…”A man dressed in fine white robes stood next to his leader, his words muffled with fear. “Zebulun, we have prepared the men but…do you think they are ready?”“We have been blessed, we will use our blessing now.” Zebulun turned around to face his small rebellion that he had collected. “Sons of Megos! We will have our first victory today!”A loud cheer came from the three hundred men; all in fine white robes. And suddenly a large fireball landed just in front of Kena who was standing at the right hand of his father.“A warning shot, good…that means we can begin. MAGES READY FOR BATTLE!” As Kena’s voice sounded the battle ready order, every man in white robes pointed their hand to the heavens and in each hand appeared a wooden staff. After Kena did the same he pointed his staff to the rebel army, as he did so a large cloudlike sphere surrounded the rebels.“Very good, your getting better I see, you actually made the shield big enough this time” Zebulun looked to his son with a smile as a staff also appeared in his hand. “Time to recruit some more volunteers into our little club.” Zebulun reached his hands out towards the oncoming army of black mages and closed his eyes. He suddenly started to glow with a white energy until suddenly a wind picked up all around Zebulun. The wind circled around him faster and faster and then it just stopped and Zebulun opened his eyes. “The seeds have been planted, lets go.”
“You…” Xan’s eyes opened wide as felt the battle wage on in the distance. “you gave them access to the unica’s powers as well?”“Indeed, the white has been awaken. You are aware what prophecy says about you once the white awakens I am sure.” A woman sat in a chair opposite Xan’s throne. “As it is written Xan, your time draws near.”Xan sited the old texts again too himself, “meaos nan d’han et na Megos seck ne mosaaed na me…powers see the red dark as night and the white angles feathers formed against each other as…mjjic aca jemok…magic was the key”“Keep going, what does it say next?” The woman stood up, closely watching Xan’s movements.Xan thought for only a moment, “d’han…nemek no jonna maanano neka, eca ma kai nodun ke ma dos; The red dark as night will see too much power, and the greatest will be taken to make way…for the cat’s paw.” Xan looked to the woman then smirked. “There is no kai, no ‘cat’s paw’, nor is there anything that can take me. Not even you.”“The texts are right, you have been born the greatest of all men. You where born infused with the unica’s power, born to be the master mage of this world. You Xan are the most powerful being on this world and you have done your part well.” The woman walked up to Xan, suddenly his arm’s stretched out and he could not move. Then she moved closer and kissed his lips lightly before stepping back and looking at him once again. “But, you are no longer needed my love. Pitty, I was hoping to use you a little longer but your arrogance was…unexpected.” The woman’s eyes glowed with fire, then she was gone. Xan’s lifeless body lay still on the throne room floor.
